Members of Executive Women International will hear from Tennessee Donor Services at their Aug. 12 meeting.

Kelley Eblin, an EWI member representing Republic Parking System, is a member of an organ donation family. Ms. Eblin and Dawn Benjamin with Tennessee Donor Services will talk about organ donation and the lives saved each year.

According to information provided by Tennessee Donor Services, one organ and tissue donor can save or improve as many as 50 lives after the donor dies. They also note that although 90 percent of Americans indicate support for organ donation, only 30 percent have taken appropriate actions to document the decision.

Executive Women International, is an organization for connections, promoting member firms, careers (including the enhancement of personal and professional development), as well as community involvement.

The organization will meet at The Walden Club on Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 5:30 p.m. Visitors are welcome to attend; however, reservations must be made prior to Aug. 8 by contacting the organization at ewichattanooga.org.

The cost for dinner is $25. All employees of member firms may attend at a cost of $20.

EWIs professional development opportunities range from the comprehensive, proprietary  Academy of Leadership series, which is an annual summit for graduates of the academy program, to an online learning certified professional leaders program.

The organization also hosts live author book chats, and skill-building tele-seminars through the group's "Leadership Link." Professional development is cited as the key benefit to individuals.

For information regarding membership in EWI, individuals are encouraged to contact Suzanne Bidek with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network at 423 490-3009.
